Take in the sights of the beautiful Frankston Waterfront from the raised timber boardwalk. Designed to protect the vulnerable sand dunes, the boardwalk makes this trail accessible to bikes, prams, walkers, and wheelchairs. The boardwalk is an easy ride, making it ideal for taking the whole family! The path stretches from Wells Street to Olivers Hill, winding along with this pristine coastal habitat.
There are also stunning views of Port Phillip, with plenty of places to stop, relax, and take in the scenery. While you’re there, take a walk down the Frankston Pier and see if you can spot the hidden message in the flags!
Discover some of the best the Mornington Peninsula Hinterland offers by taking the Red Hill Trail through this quiet village. Starting at the heart of the village make your way along the trail taking in the glorious sites of the hinterland and vineyards along the way. The trail will take you past the showgrounds and finishes outside the primary school, giving you a chance to stop and sample some of the local goods from one of the many producers in the area.
The Bay Trail extends 25km along the coast of Port Phillip from Safety Beach to Sorrento. The shared pathway offers walkers and cyclists some of the most outstanding views of the bay beaches. The trail can also be broken into several smaller rides, making it ideal for taking young novice riders along for a ride. With starting points all along the coast, including Dromana, Rosebud and Blairgowrie, the most challenging part is deciding which village to check out!
Some of the highlights along the trail include Anthonys Nose and White Cliffs, a rocky outcrop where you can see a reconstructed Lime Burners Kiln built as a tribute to one of the major industries for the early settlers in the Rye area.
If mountain biking is more your style, Arthurs Seat is a great place to explore. The peaceful surroundings of the bush and steep terrain make for great biking, specifically designated tracks for mountain bikes. There are 13km of different trails to explore, with something for all skill levels. Some tracks are two-ways, while others are one-way ascending or descending, so make sure you check out the trail information before setting out.
Warringine Park is home to several ecosystems, and the boardwalk is a fantastic way to experience them. Ride along and check out the southern-most mangroves in the world, along with coastal wetlands and woodlands. It is also home to over 200 different species of wildlife! The boardwalk makes this a fantastic family-friendly ride, giving the kids a chance to try and spot as many animals as they can along the way.
