Good Food, Great Achievements

2 Hats, 1 Hat and a Young Chef Of The Year; here are the results from The Age Good Food Guide Awards for 2023 on the Mornington Peninsula

On what was a night of celebration of Victoria’s vibrant culinary industry, the Mornington Peninsula has once again received outstanding recognition at The Age Good Food Guide Awards for 2023. Established to showcase and bring awareness to the nation’s best food and drink scenes.

Read on to discover all the Mornington Peninsula businesses that received acclaim from this week’s event:

Leading the way for the region was 28-year-old Nicholas Deligiannis from Audrey’s restaurant at The Continental Sorrento, taking home the title of Young Chef Of The Year. Launching only this year as part of the historic Sorrento icon’s reemergence, Audrey’s combines old-world elegance with seaside charm. Steered by acclaimed chef and restaurateur Scott Pickett, the refined and authentic dining experience showcases seasonal-driven flavours from a tasting menu or 3-course choice menu.

With two hats to their name, both Ten Minutes By Tractor in Main Ridge and Todesca Osteria in Red Hill have continued to uphold their exceptional dining experiences. A total of ten Mornington Peninsula restaurants were awarded a distinguished one hat, including that of Doot Doot Doot, Paringa Estate, Polperro Winery, Port Phillip Estate, Rare Hare, the Restaurant At Montalto, Cape Restaurant at RACV Cape Schanck Resort and Audrey’s at The Continental Sorrento.

In strengthening the Mornington Peninsula’s reputation as a leading culinary destination, these restaurants have remained sought-after dining scenes for both new and returning visitors to the region. Distinct dining journeys align with the changing of the seasons, with guests able to pull up a seat either alongside the vines or only footsteps from the coast.
