New in Spring - Visit Mornington Peninsula
Mostly sunny 18.8°C

Spring has finally arrived, and nature is blooming. The sun shines a little brighter and you have that urge to get outside and breathe fresh spring air. To help you find things to reconnect with family and friends we’ve put together a list of what’s new and in season on the Mornington Peninsula to help you find the best spring things!

NEW EXPERIENCES

Swimming with the dolphins is such a fun and unique experience and will be available again from the last weekend in September with Polperro Dolphin Swims. This magical experience is something that will be remembered for years to come and you will be amazed by how much you learn about our wonderful eco-system.

Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery welcomes ‘Art and Science’ this spring showcasing three exhibitions that connect art, science and research. Admire well known South Australian Artist, Catherine Truman's work that incorporates contemporary jewellery, objects, digital image and film installation with a focus upon the parallels between artistic process and scientific method.

Arthurs Seat Eagle have extended their opening hours to 10am-5pm 7 days per week, so you can keep soaring well into the afternoon making the most of the longer days. During school holidays, kids will enjoy a treasure hunt aboard the eagle giving them the chance to win daily prizes!

NEW PRODUCE

The goats at Main Ridge Dairy have been hard at work and the dairy team have just added a new cheese to their selection. The Ashed Pyramid is a beautiful chevre exhibiting a delicate citrus flavour, lightly salted and covered in a fine vegetable ash. From the start of October  you will often see lots of little baby goats in the paddock next to the cheesery which are a fun addition for your visit.

After a winter of spawning, mussels are now starting to thrive. The warmer water encourages an explosion in the growth of phytoplankton that the mussels feed on resulting in juicy and plump mussels. Peninsula Fresh Seafoods is the place to get your fresh mussels and other seasonal seafood like calamari, snapper and the prized King George whiting that is starting to become available.

NEW SIPS

Coming soon to Bass and Flinders Distillery is a new drop called ‘Eau de Vie’ which is made from distillation of wine in a traditional Alembic Pot still. The grapes are all from single vineyards from across Victoria and contribute to the fine quality of this base spirit.

Dromana Estate is releasing their 2018 Voignier as well as hosting The Creators Market on October 13th; giving you an opportunity to shop, eat lunch and try their new wine all in a gorgeous setting amongst the vines.

When the Red Hill Brewery team weren’t busy collaborating on a new brew with other breweries in the region, they were creating their own new brew ‘East Coast IPA’ which is deep and golden with a punchy hop character of citrus and tropical pine. Available now!
