From the heart of Somerville, with its cafes, bakeries and shops, this trail travels along the service road beside Frankston-Flinders Rd until it crosses Deanswood Drive and becomes a dedicated path. Through the town of Tyabb the path continues alongside Frankston-Flinders Rd to the north of Hastings past the Bluescope Steel Mill and finishing at Graydens Road.
This part of the trail links the inland section of the Bay Trail to the first part of the Western port coast section in Hastings.

This trail leads straight through Hastings, covering much of the foreshore and also passing the Westernport Marina. This is the first section of the Westernport Bay encountered on the Western Port Bay Trail and makes for a scenic trip through Hastings. Starts at the Frankston-Flinders Road and Graydens Road intersection with an urban footpath, leads into the reserve along the foreshore at Hastings with Mangroves on the edge of the water, passes the Westernport Marine and heads inland along the edge of the Warringine Park, finishing where Frankston-Flinders Road meets with Stony Point Road.

Following on from the Hastings Trail section of the Western Port Bay Trail, this section starts at the intersection of Stony Point Road and Frankston-Flinders Road. It follows the Stony Point train line past the Bittern Railway Station, into Bittern township, where you can stop for a coffee! Starts where Frankston-Flinders Road meets Stony Point Road and finishes at South Beach Road at the start of Urquhart Crescent.
This Trail is generally 2m wide asphalt or concrete path and makes for easy walking.
You can then continue along the Somers Bay Trail section of the Western Port Bay Trail.

This large section of the Mornington Peninsula Bay Trail traverses from the township of Bittern, out to Somers and then straight into the heart of Balnarring. These quiet Westernport towns are beautiful examples of the more peaceful side of the Mornington Peninsula.
Starts at South Beach Road in Bittern and follows Sandy Point Rd back towards Balnarring. This trail finishes at Frankston-Flinders Road in the heart of Balnarring.
