Bittern Trail (part of the Western Port Bay Trail)

Walk Difficulty This trail starts at the intersection of Stony Point Road and Frankston-Flinders Road in Bittern. It runs parallel to the Stony Point train line along the Frankston-Flinders Road into the tiny Bittern township, where you can stop for a coffee, and past the Bittern Railway Station. While it follows the main road, it is under the canopy of mature trees for most of the way and is quite pleasant. The trail is generally two-metre wide asphalt or concrete path and includes little ramp bridges through wetter or more sensitive areas making for easy walking. It then veers away from Frankston-Flinders Road and finishes at the intersection of South Beach Road and Urquhart Crescent.

This trail is part of the 27 kilometres Western Port Bay Trail that runs from Somerville to Balnarring. It joins the Hastings Trail to the north to the Somers Trail section in the south.
