Wine + Wineries

Wine just doesn’t get any better than this

Explore Mornington Peninsula wine at cellar doors and restaurants.

Mornington Peninsula wineries are some of the most celebrated in Australia. The region has gained a strong reputation for the cool climate wines of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all with a true sense of place. A number of cellar doors also have restaurants to make for a superb wine and dining experience.

Bittern Estate

Planted in 1996, the vineyard at Bittern Estate is on the site of the apple and pear orchard known as “Tathravale” which was purchased in 1959 by the Zerbe family, who have been orchardists in Australia since 1854.

Over many years the property has produced high-quality fresh fruit for the table and in later years, grapes used to produce wines of exceptional quality for other wineries in Victoria. With a maritime climate, sheltered from the cold south and open exposure to the north for sunlight and warmth, the vineyard is ideal for the production of low volumes of exceptional wines with remarkable bouquet and palate.
