OPENING EVENT - Curators Floor Talk followed by opening drinks

Join us for opening drinks and a free Floor Talk by Everywhen's curators Susan McCulloch & Emily McCulloch Childs at the opening of the exhibition 'Minyma Ku Tjukurpa Ernabella'.

This new exhibition from Ernabella Arts, SA, comprises vibrant new paintings and hand-built ceramics by 14 leading and emerging Ernabella artists in celebration of Women's Lore and Culture.

Susan and Emily have both had long and close associations with Ernabella Arts dating from the 1960s when Susan's father, the late Alan McCulloch AO, reviewed the brilliantly coloured screenprints of the regions 'walka' design and the colourful wool weavings of Ernabella artists on show in Melbourne. In 2015-16 Emily conducted Indigenous jewellery workshops on country with Ernabella artists and contemporary jewellers Kate Rohde and Melinda Young - resulting in an exhibition at Jam Factory Adelaide and with galleries around Australia.

Both Susan and Emily have also charted the contemporary rise of Ernabella Arts in books, articles and reviews since the 1990s, shown the work of Ernabella artists in exhibitions since 2009 and presented four Ernabella exhibitions at Everywhen Art , Salt Contemporary Art and Sydney Contemporary art fair.

They visit the community often - most recently in August this year to re meet the artists and select works for this exhibition.
